All banks and Forex Bureaus change foreign currencies notably the Pound Sterling, U.S Dollar, Deutsche Marks, Japanese Yen, CFA etc.
They also accept travellers cheques and credit cards but most widely accepted are American Express, Diners and Visa cards. Your Credit Card may be used for payment at nearly all Airlines, leading hotels and major supermarkets.

The electric voltage in Ghana is 200/240 volts. Electric outlets accept either 2 or 3 pronged plugs or convertors.

WATER
Safe and ample treated tap water is available. Bottled mineral water is also available for purchase.

TIME
Ghana lies geographically on the Greenwich Meridian and therefore has GMT.

CLIMATE
Ghana is situated in the torrid zone and climate - moderate temperatures, constant breeze and clear and abundant sunshine most of the year. Ghana has two rainy seasons. A major rainy season from about late April to early June and a minor season from September to October. Temperatures range between 21 - 32ºC in the South. (Cape Coast included).

Telephone calls can be made from any Post Office in the country except in very remote areas. Calls can also be made from telephone booths installed in cities and towns.
